Environment, Health & Safety

Cromatos complies fully with local legislation and regulations relating to environmental protection. We promote the best possible practices in safety and healthy working conditions in our plants, laboratories and offices, adopting procedures, formulations, instruments and plants with minimum environmental impact. Cromatos also verifies as much as possible the relative status of partners and suppliers, through inspection of documentation, licenses and periodical visits to the plants.
Products are strictly controlled and carefully packed, and finally clearly labelled, in order to permit correct manipulation, stockage and usage.

Classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances is harmonised in order to protect public health and the environment and ensure the free movement of such products.
Harmonised labelling allows consumers to recognise these substances easily. The legislation also governs the types of test to be conducted, with a view to replacing animal testing by scientifically acceptable alternatives. The most recent proposal to amend the legislation will establish a single integrated registration system (REACH) and set up a European Chemicals Agency.
